Terms & Conditions of Sale
Last updated: 5 September 2026
These Terms & Conditions of Sale (“Terms”) apply to purchases made through the Leeds Signature Joinery online Shop.
The Shop is operated by Leeds Signature Joinery Contracts Limited, trading as Leeds Signature Joinery (“we”, “us” or “our”).
Please read these Terms carefully before placing an order. By placing an order through our Shop, you are offering to purchase Goods subject to these Terms.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or replaces any statutory rights available to you under applicable UK consumer law.
1. About Us

2. Definitions
In these Terms:
“Consumer” means an individual acting wholly or mainly for purposes outside their trade, business, craft or profession.
“Business Customer” means a person or organisation purchasing Goods wholly or mainly for purposes relating to their trade, business, craft or profession.
“Contract” means the contract between you and us for the sale and purchase of Goods.
“Goods” means any products purchased from our Shop.
“Shop” means the online retail section of the Leeds Signature Joinery website.
“Bespoke Goods” means Goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised for you.
3. Application of These Terms
These Terms apply to orders placed through our online Shop.
Additional terms may apply to certain products where clearly stated on the relevant product page.
Our:
- Delivery & Shipping Policy;
- Returns & Refunds Policy;
- Privacy Policy; and
- Cookie Policy
should also be read alongside these Terms where applicable.
Where you separately engage Leeds Signature Joinery to provide installation, joinery, carpentry or other project services, those services may be governed by our separate Terms of Business and the relevant quotation or contract.
4. Products
We take reasonable care to ensure that product descriptions, specifications, dimensions and other information displayed on our Shop are accurate.
Product images are intended to provide a reasonable representation of the Goods.
However, the appearance of colours and finishes can vary depending on your screen or device.
Products manufactured from timber, veneer, stone or other natural materials may also vary naturally in colour, grain, texture, figure, knots and other characteristics.
Reasonable natural variation does not by itself mean that Goods are defective.
Nothing in this section allows us to supply Goods that are materially different from their description or agreed specification.
5. Measurements
Product measurements and dimensions will be stated on the relevant product page where applicable.
You should check dimensions carefully before ordering.
Where you provide measurements for Bespoke Goods, you are responsible for ensuring that those measurements are accurate.
If we manufacture Goods correctly according to measurements supplied by you, we will not normally be responsible if those Goods are unsuitable because the measurements you provided were incorrect.
This does not affect your rights if we fail to manufacture the Goods according to the agreed measurements or specification.
6. Bespoke and Personalised Goods
Some products may be manufactured specifically for you.
This can include Goods:
- Cut to dimensions supplied by you;
- Manufactured to a unique specification;
- Engraved or personalised;
- Manufactured using personalised wording;
- Produced in a genuinely customised configuration; or
- Otherwise clearly personalised.
You are responsible for checking all measurements, wording, specifications and selections carefully before submitting your order.
Where reasonably practicable, we may contact you to confirm important details before manufacture begins.
Once manufacture of genuinely Bespoke Goods has begun, changes may not be possible.
Different statutory cancellation rights may apply to Bespoke Goods. Please see our Returns & Refunds Policy.
7. Made-to-Order Goods
Some Goods may be described as made to order.
Made-to-order means that the Goods are manufactured or prepared after an order is received.
A product being made to order does not necessarily mean that it is bespoke or personalised.
Where a standard product is simply manufactured following an order but has not been made to your specifications or clearly personalised, applicable Consumer cancellation rights may still apply.
8. Placing an Order
Our online ordering process allows you to review your order before submitting it.
You are responsible for checking:
- The products selected;
- Quantity;
- Dimensions;
- Finish or material selections;
- Personalisation;
- Delivery address;
- Contact details; and
- Any other order information
before completing your purchase.
After placing an order, you should receive an electronic acknowledgement.
An acknowledgement that we have received your order does not necessarily mean that we have accepted it.
9. Acceptance of Your Order
Your order constitutes an offer to purchase Goods from us.
A Contract is formed when we accept your order.
Depending on our ordering system, acceptance may occur when we send an order acceptance or confirmation, commence manufacture of Bespoke Goods, or dispatch the Goods.
We reserve the right to decline an order before acceptance.
If we decline an order after receiving payment, any amount taken for Goods we are not supplying will be refunded.
10. Reasons We May Decline an Order
We may decline an order where, for example:
- A product is unavailable;
- We cannot obtain the necessary materials;
- We cannot deliver to the requested address;
- Payment has not been authorised;
- We identify an obvious pricing or description error;
- We cannot reasonably manufacture the requested specification;
- The requested product would be unsafe or unsuitable to manufacture;
- We reasonably suspect fraudulent or unauthorised activity; or
- We are legally prohibited from supplying the Goods.
Where reasonably appropriate, we will explain why an order cannot be accepted.
11. Prices
Prices will be displayed on the Shop in pounds sterling (£).
Prices will state or indicate the applicable VAT treatment in accordance with legal requirements.
Delivery charges, where applicable, may be added separately and will be shown before you complete your purchase.
The total amount payable will be displayed during checkout.
12. Pricing Errors
We take reasonable care to ensure prices are correct.
It is always possible that a product may occasionally be incorrectly priced.
If we discover an obvious pricing error before accepting your order, we may contact you and give you the opportunity to purchase the product at the correct price or cancel the order.
We will not knowingly rely on an obviously incorrect price where doing so would be inappropriate or unlawful.
If we cannot contact you, we may treat the affected order as cancelled and refund any amount paid.
13. VAT
Where VAT is applicable, it will be charged at the rate required by UK law.
If the VAT rate changes between your order and the date of supply, we will apply the legally required treatment.
This will not affect an amount already paid where the applicable law requires otherwise.
14. Payment
Available payment methods will be displayed during checkout.
Payment must be successfully authorised before Goods are dispatched unless we expressly agree otherwise.
For Bespoke Goods, we may require full payment before manufacture begins.
Where a product uses a different payment arrangement, this will be made clear before the order is confirmed.
You confirm that you are authorised to use the payment method submitted with the order.
15. Payment Security
Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers.
We do not necessarily receive or retain your complete payment-card details.
Payment providers process payment information according to their own security and privacy arrangements.
Our handling of personal information is explained further in our Privacy Policy.
16. Availability
All Goods are subject to availability.
Stock information is provided in good faith but occasional discrepancies can occur.
If Goods become unavailable after you place an order, we will contact you.
Depending on the circumstances, we may:
- Offer an alternative;
- Provide an updated lead time;
- Offer to fulfil the available part of an order; or
- Cancel and refund the affected Goods.
We will not substitute materially different Goods without your agreement.
17. Lead Times
Some products may have manufacturing or preparation lead times.
Any lead time shown on a product page is an estimate unless expressly stated otherwise.
Lead times may be affected by material availability, manufacturing requirements, finishing processes and circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Where there is a significant delay, we will take reasonable steps to keep you informed.
Your statutory rights relating to delivery remain unaffected.
18. Delivery
Delivery availability, charges and arrangements are explained in our Delivery & Shipping Policy.
The estimated delivery period applicable to your order may also be displayed on the product page, during checkout or in your order confirmation.
You are responsible for providing an accurate and complete delivery address.
Nothing in these Terms restricts statutory rights concerning delivery of Consumer Goods.
19. Risk
Where you are a Consumer and we arrange delivery, the Goods generally remain at our risk until they come into your physical possession or the physical possession of a person identified by you to receive them.
Different rules may apply where you independently appoint a carrier that was not offered by us.
For Business Customers, different arrangements may apply where expressly agreed.
20. Ownership
Ownership of the Goods will pass to you once we have received payment in full and any other applicable legal requirements for transfer have been satisfied.
This provision does not affect the statutory allocation of risk for Consumer deliveries.
21. Cancellation by Consumers
If you purchase eligible Goods online as a Consumer, you will normally have a statutory right to change your mind.
For eligible Goods, you generally have 14 days after receiving the Goods to tell us that you wish to cancel.
You then generally have a further 14 days to return the Goods.
There are exceptions to these cancellation rights, including certain Goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised.
Full details are contained in our Returns & Refunds Policy.
22. Bespoke Goods and Cancellation
The usual change-of-mind cancellation right may not apply to Goods that are genuinely made to your specifications or clearly personalised.
This may include products manufactured to customer-supplied dimensions or containing individual personalisation.
We will seek to make this clear on relevant product pages.
The fact that a product is merely manufactured after ordering does not automatically mean that it falls within the bespoke-goods exception.
This section does not affect your rights where Bespoke Goods are faulty, not as described or do not conform to the Contract.
23. Returns
Returns are governed by our Returns & Refunds Policy.
Where you exercise a valid statutory cancellation right, you must return the Goods in accordance with the applicable legal requirements.
You are responsible for the direct cost of returning change-of-mind Goods where legally permitted and where we have informed you of that responsibility.
24. Refunds
Where you are entitled to a refund, we will process it in accordance with applicable law and our Returns & Refunds Policy.
Refunds will normally be made using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed and legally permissible.
We do not charge a fee simply for processing a statutory refund.
25. Faulty Goods
We are under a legal duty to supply Goods that conform to the Contract.
For Consumers, Goods must satisfy applicable requirements including being:
- Of satisfactory quality;
- Fit for purpose where applicable;
- As described; and
- Consistent with any agreed specification.
If Goods are faulty or otherwise fail to conform to the Contract, you may have statutory rights including rights to reject, repair, replacement, price reduction or refund depending on the circumstances.
Please see our Returns & Refunds Policy or contact us.
26. Damage During Delivery
If Goods arrive damaged, please contact us promptly.
Where reasonably possible, provide photographs of:
- The Goods;
- The damage; and
- The packaging.
Please retain the packaging while the matter is investigated where reasonably practicable.
Your rights concerning Goods damaged before responsibility passes to you are not affected by this provision.
27. Customer-Supplied Specifications
Where Goods are manufactured using specifications supplied by you, you must ensure that those specifications are complete and accurate.
This can include:
- Dimensions;
- Text;
- Names;
- Engraving;
- Configuration;
- Material selection;
- Finish selection; and
- Other customisation information.
We are responsible for manufacturing the Goods according to the Contract.
We are not normally responsible where Goods have been correctly manufactured but are unsuitable solely because information supplied by you was incorrect.
28. Changes to Bespoke Orders
If you wish to change a Bespoke order after placing it, please contact us immediately.
We will tell you whether the requested change is possible.
Changes requested after design, material procurement or manufacture has begun may result in additional costs or delays.
We will tell you about material additional charges before proceeding with the change.
29. Timber and Natural Materials
Timber is a natural material.
Variations can occur in:
- Colour;
- Grain;
- Texture;
- Figure;
- Knots;
- Mineral markings; and
- Other naturally occurring characteristics.
These variations contribute to the individual appearance of natural timber products.
Reasonable natural variations which are consistent with the product description are not defects.
Timber can also respond naturally to environmental changes in temperature and humidity.
Nothing in this section excludes liability for Goods that are actually defective or materially fail to conform to their description or specification.
30. Product Care
Certain products may require appropriate care and maintenance.
Where care instructions are supplied, you should follow them.
We will not normally be responsible for damage caused by misuse, neglect, inappropriate cleaning products, unsuitable storage, unauthorised modification or failure to follow reasonable care instructions.
This does not affect your rights concerning faults which existed when the Goods were supplied.
31. Installation by Others
Unless expressly included with the product, the sale of Goods through our Shop does not include installation.
You are responsible for arranging appropriate installation where required.
Some Goods may require installation by a suitably competent person.
We are not responsible for defective workmanship carried out by an independent installer appointed by you.
If you believe Goods are defective or incorrect, you should contact us before installation or material alteration where reasonably practicable.
This does not affect your statutory rights concerning the Goods themselves.
32. Installation by Leeds Signature Joinery
Where you separately purchase installation services from Leeds Signature Joinery, additional contractual terms may apply.
The installation service may be governed by a separate quotation and our Terms of Business.
The Shop purchase and installation service should not be assumed to form a single Contract unless we expressly confirm that they do.
33. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in our website and original content, including product photography, drawings, designs, graphics, written material and branding, remain owned by us or the relevant rights holder.
Purchasing a product does not transfer intellectual property rights in our designs or other protected material unless expressly agreed in writing.
You may not reproduce or commercially exploit our proprietary designs, drawings or website content without permission except where permitted by law.
34. Website Availability
We aim to keep our Shop available and functioning correctly but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability.
We may temporarily suspend access for maintenance, security, technical reasons or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Where an order has already been accepted, temporary website unavailability does not remove our obligations under the Contract.
35. Product Changes
We may change products, specifications or packaging from time to time.
Changes will not materially alter Goods already ordered without your agreement where doing so would breach the Contract.
We may make minor changes necessary to comply with legal, regulatory or safety requirements provided those changes do not materially reduce the quality or functionality of the Goods.
36. Promotions and Discount Codes
Promotional offers and discount codes may be subject to additional conditions displayed when the promotion is offered.
Unless stated otherwise:
- Promotions cannot be exchanged for cash;
- A discount code may be limited to one use per order;
- Promotions may apply only to selected Goods; and
- Promotions may have an expiry date.
Nothing in promotional terms affects statutory Consumer rights.
37. Events Outside Our Reasonable Control
We will not be responsible for delay or failure caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.
These may include:
- Severe weather;
- Transport disruption;
- Supplier failures;
- Material shortages;
- Industrial action;
- Carrier disruption;
- Fire;
- Flood;
- Government action; or
- Other events that could not reasonably have been prevented.
Where such an event affects your order, we will take reasonable steps to minimise its effect and keep you informed.
This provision does not remove statutory rights available to Consumers, including rights that may arise from significant delivery delays.
38. Our Responsibility to Consumers
We are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable consequence of our breach of the Contract or failure to exercise the legally required standard of care.
We are not responsible for losses that are not reasonably foreseeable as a result of the breach.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts your statutory Consumer rights.
39. Business Customers
If you purchase Goods wholly or mainly for business purposes, Consumer-specific provisions in these Terms will not apply where they are legally limited to Consumers.
For Business Customers, unless otherwise agreed and subject to applicable law, we will not be responsible for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of business or loss of opportunity arising from the Contract.
Nothing excludes liability which cannot lawfully be excluded.
Any limitation applicable to a Business Customer remains subject to applicable law.
40. Personal Information
We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Information may be shared with delivery companies, payment processors and other service providers where reasonably necessary to process and fulfil your order.
41. Communications
We may contact you using the email address, telephone number or other contact information provided with your order.
You are responsible for ensuring that your contact information is accurate.
Electronic communications relating to your order form part of our transaction records.
42. Complaints
If you are unhappy with a product or the service you have received, please contact us so that we can investigate.
Email: info@signaturejoinery.co.uk
Telephone: 0113 418 2894
Please provide your order number and relevant details wherever possible.
Nothing in this complaints procedure affects your legal rights.
43. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
The Terms applicable to your order will normally be those in effect when your Contract with us was formed.
We will not retrospectively alter an existing Contract in a way that unlawfully reduces your rights.
The current version will be published on our website.
44. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
Where appropriate, the affected provision will be treated as modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.
45. No Waiver
If we do not immediately enforce a right under the Contract, this does not mean that we have waived that right.
A delay in exercising a right does not prevent it from being exercised later.
46. Third-Party Rights
Unless expressly stated otherwise, a person who is not a party to the Contract does not have a right to enforce its terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
47. Governing Law
These Terms and Contracts formed through our Shop are governed by the law of England and Wales.
If you are a Consumer resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you retain any mandatory legal protections that apply to you.
48. Jurisdiction
If you are a Consumer, nothing in these Terms removes any statutory right concerning where legal proceedings may be brought.
For Business Customers, the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction unless otherwise agreed in writing.
49. Your Statutory Rights
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude, restrict or replace any statutory rights or remedies available to Consumers under applicable UK law.
If these Terms conflict with a mandatory statutory Consumer right, the statutory right will prevail.
